At The Centre, we've always believed ministry is about people and showing up for one another.
Long before it became a scholarship fund, it started with a woman who simply cared deeply about others. Cassandra Walker founded the Women's Ministry here at The Centre at Highland. The scholarship in her honor reflects the heart of making sure nobody in our church family has to walk into a new season alone.
Some students face a harsh reality:
- 25% of college students work extra shifts just to pay for textbooks
- 11% of students skip meals to afford required course materials
- 65% have skipped buying a required text book because they could not afford it.*
Our graduates are not only celebrated on graduation Sunday but supported after the ceremony and applause is over. Sometimes it's helping a student buy their books. Sometimes it's easing a little pressure off a family trying to make ends meet.
2025 Scholarship Impact
- (3) Graduating High School Seniors received $750 each
How the Scholarship Works
To apply, students must inquire with Sis. Brenda Bowser during Sunday Service at 11am. Students must be a member of The Centre at Highland and a graduating High School senior to apply. This scholarship does not have a set amount for each student. The total amount donated is split equally among all qualifying recipients.
The more we raise together, the more we can place directly into the hands of our graduates as they prepare for college, trade school and the future God has for them.
