NO BIBLE STUDY SEPTEMBER 8.

Stay in the Word with this week's lesson and take a few minutes to reflect:

What percentage of your week is actually built around someone else's needs?

If someone followed you around this week with no idea you were a Christian, what would your calendar, your bank account, and your energy actually tell them you're about?

Jesus answers both of those in Mark 10. He says the greatest person in any room is the one most fully given to serving everyone else in it, and he says it about himself: he didn't come to be served, he came to serve.

Service as addition keeps you at the center and squeezes other people into whatever's left over. Service as identity means something in your actual schedule, budget, or energy moves so someone else stops being the leftover.

This Week's Reflection:

  • Where has service been an addition in your life, something bolted onto a schedule still built around you, instead of something that actually defines you?
  • Write it down and share with us next week when we come back together in person for study.
