Church History-

The Centre at Highland is a church where God is perfecting and preparing a people for purpose, destiny and deliverance. We are one church located in the Inland Empire of San Bernardino, California. Eight (8) individuals founded the church originally as a Bible Study Fellowship in a private home. With the help of a pastor recently relocated from Alaska to the San Bernardino area, they formed a Church in July 1988, incorporated in the State of California. The Centre at Highland, lovingly known as “The Centre” or “SBCC” was organized with the vision of equipping the saints of God with the tools necessary to develop mature disciples, to evangelize thousands of secular (unchurched) people through presentation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and enable people to break free from the bondage of all manner of sin through the power of the Holy Spirit. To help heal the hurts of wounded hearts who will reflect the true image of Christ as a testimony to the victorious life changing effect of the Gospel in our world.

We have a full time Senior Pastor, Philip Powell, who is the Chief Executive Officer, ordained as Bishop, and appointed by God, a Lay Business Administrator, Minister of Music, a member of the Board of Directors, and a capable servant hood leadership government providing significant ministry services. He has 35 years in Ministry with 26 years at The Centre at Highland and 22 of those years were as the Senior Pastor.

We are a group of dedicated workers and leaders who are committed to ministering to others. We are a core group of people that lead and serve in the various ministries of our church as Sunday school teachers, deacons, musicians, youth leaders and so forth.  We represent the deepest level of commitment to serving the Inland Empire.
